In BSMU all departments and chairs use different kinds of students knowledge and abilities control, i.e. current, intermediate and final control. In recent years’ practice tests, as the means of students’ knowledge control prevail.
Intermediate (or periodical, or step by step) test control is carried out after studying the whole unit or at the end of the educational term at the final classes. As the means of control they use tests results, the analyses of biomaterial, laboratory and instrumental research, explanation and description of biopreparations and slides, different kinds of tests on the basis of clinical situations, i.e. everything that allows to evaluate the knowledge, the students acquire during their education.
The final control of the students’ level is carried out during the exams and credit tests. In order to control the students’ current progress and rhythm of their work during the term, and in order to follow the organization, pace and quality of the educational process in the University, there is a system of special certification which is held every month (the data are presented to the Dean’s office).
In BSMU there is a system of complex certification of practical and theoretical training for students for the whole period of education.
1st stage – checking up the practical skills and abilities at the end of the curriculum
2nd stage – the test of the knowledge received
3rd stage – talk (with test tasks applied) is performed during the exam session according to the timetable.
Together with traditional methods, every department has their own progressive forms of the knowledge automatic control with the use of various complicated tests which correspond to typical and working curricula and state standards.
