Laboratory studies have a common structure: the control of background knowledge of students -10% of the time, laboratory work – 40%, explanation and analysis of new material-15%, independent work of students under the supervision of a teacher – 30%, checking the assignment and synthesis of lessons -5% . The educational process from the beginning student learning is focused on understanding the structure and types of chemical reactions of basic organic compounds found in the structure of human and animal tissue, the major groups of drugs and biologically active substances on the molecular level understanding of biological processes and practical activities of graduates and the acquisition of certain skills in analyzing changes in biochemical constants. This is reflected in the forms and methods of organizing the independent work of students under the guidance of teacher: solving experimental problems to identify biochemical indicators of blood, urine, saliva, gastric juices, etc., in the task of setting the probable diagnosis of typical situations, close to the clinical conditions under use of biochemical indicators.

That is the aim of teaching and research work. The main forms Wirz at the department:

– Preparing, writing, report and discussion with a group of essays;
– Production of visual aids (tables, charts, slides);
– Survey of volunteers (study of selected biochemical parameters of saliva and urine) on a special map-form;

For many years, the department operates biochemical circle, in which each year, 20-25 students of different courses. NIRS conducted subsequent directions:
– By reporting on current issues in biochemistry, molecular biology and clinical chemistry;
– Development of students of modern methods of biochemical research;
– Implementation of experimental and clinical research work, followed by presentations at scientific conferences;
– Participation in the student’s scientific conferences.
The department has a set of educational and research laboratories allowing for the laboratory work provided by the curriculum, work programs in the disciplines and research students and staff. Where necessary, use the research base CSRL University, Institute of Biochemistry and Human Genetics at UC Academy of Sciences (under contract).

The educational process is equipped (photocolorimeter, centrifuges, thermostats, etc.) However, it must equip classrooms with new hood. There is a computer class at 7 PVM is used for training, for the current and final mastering control subjects. In the educational process at the department used 9 training, 9 control and 11 test programs. Testing the source of knowledge is held in the beginning of each laboratory studies all students individually by hand.
Assimilation of individual sections of the course students bioorganic, organic and biological chemistry is controlled by the final sessions, which are conducted with the use of testing on computers with the following written performance benchmarks and a personal interview with the student teacher. Tests are created for all sections of articles allowing for the faculties in accordance with the standard and working programs of disciplines.
To ensure the educational process and research activities there are 10 teaching laboratory rooms with a total area of 479.3 m2 and a computer room with 7 PVM (18, 4 m2), 4 laboratory with an area of 81,8 m2, 9 – Teaching (162.6 m2), 3-laborantskie (56,9 2), head of the department’s office (16 m2), storage and other auxiliary facilities. Laboratories are equipped with chemical tables, photometry, centrifuges, thermostats. There are technical training. Research in the Department of Biochemistry

The Department has made some contribution to the scientific and pedagogical personnel, only the last 10 years at the department graduate students, 15 doctoral applicants are protected and about 60 Ph.D. theses. The main scientific directions of the department over the years were: clinical biochemistry, environmental biochemistry and toxicology, patohimiya thermal injuries, the biochemical mechanisms of action of medicinal compounds. Revealed that the unidirectional shift in the form of increasing lipid peroxidation, depression of antioxidant protection, activation of intravascular coagulation and fibrinolytic system failure, metabolic disorders, products of polyunsaturated fatty acids – the suppression of depressor and pressor hyperproduction series prostanoids are integral components of the pathogenesis of HFRS, and pronounced dysfunction of these systems is observed the development of its complications. Studies on the biochemical mechanisms of action of medicinal compounds in our department were laid by the works of one of the Head of Department Prof. IL Vakulenko. The leading scientific direction of the department especially in recent years, along with clinical biochemistry, is the environmental and toxicological chemistry. In this direction the Department is actively cooperating with several academic institutions of Bashkortostan and Russia.
Studied the toxicological and metabolic effects of new organic products and compositions that are embedded in the aerospace and aviation industries, as well as aromatic and organochlorine compounds, the largest producer in Russia which is of Bashkortostan. Experimentally studied the laws of development of metabolic disorders under the influence of herbicides based on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, chlorinated biphenyls, piromeelitovogo anhydride and other compounds belonging to the group of persistent organic pollutants.
As a result, studies show that in the development of intoxication under the influence of these pollutants are of prime importance increased microsomal oxidation with an induction of synthesis of RNA, cytochrome p450 proinformatsionnoy and b5, and increasing concentrations of monooxygenase enzymes of brain tissue, liver, lungs, kidneys, and the activation of free radical oxidation and peroxidation of membrane lipids, impaired transport and receptor proteins of cell membranes, reduced physiological antioxidant protection. The level and severity of these changes depends on the frequency and intensity of the proceeds of persistent organic pollutants. At the same time in the cells shows a shift of processes of tissue respiration and energy production. In order to confirm the experimental data were carried out targeted research on indicators of biochemical, immunological and hormonal status, health workers major occupational groups of chemical plants for the production of herbicides based on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, pyromellitic dianhydride and some cyclic compounds – products of its synthesis, urban with an unfavorable ecological situation.
Studying the health of children living in conditions of combined effects of toxicants, has shown its dependence on the intensity of technogenic pollution of residence. In areas with higher levels of environmental stress is defined higher overall incidence of pre-school children, found lower levels in the blood of carotene, retinol and α-tocopherol, reduction of the peroxide resistance of erythrocytes, a significant drop in the number of catalase, increasing concentrations of insulin, estradiol, a strong variability of the content cortisol, lower triiodothyronine and thyroxine.
Determination of hormones in the blood of more than 2000 men of reproductive age in urban areas with high concentration of petrochemical and chemical industries (Ufa, Sterlitamak, Salavat) revealed a significant shift of their content, compared with the reference values. Thus, the average content of the main sex hormone – testosterone found in 1,5 – 2 times lower concentration of gonadotropic hormones differed considerable fluctuations, but on average did not differ at the same time observed hyperprolactinemia, giperestradiolemiya, dissociation levels of ACTH and cortisol. History of the Department of Biochemistry

One of the first in the Institute was in 1932, organized by the Department of Organic Chemistry. The first teacher of organic chemistry was adopted MA Abdulmenov. In 1933, organized by another 2 chair of chemical-sky profile: Biological Chemistry and fizkolloidnoy chemistry.
The first lecturer of biological chemistry was enlisted to September 1, 1933 Ibrahim Zileevich Ilyasov , who worked previously as an assistant Oren-burg Institute of beef cattle.
Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry in 1933 are located on the second floor of this building No 2 University Str. Frunze, 47. As the head of the Department of Biological Chemistry, was invited to the penny-chair of Biological Chemistry, Saratov State University-theta Eugene M. Gubarev . December 31, 1933 People’s Commissar of Health of the RSFSR, including Professor EM Gubarev was approved by the head of the Department of Biochemistry BGMI. He was awarded the title of professor. In the same year the decision of the Qualification Commission of the People’s Commissariat-care he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences, he was confirmed as the title of professor, and from 7 February 1936, he moved to the management department of organic chemistry.
In 1937, the Department of the buildings on the street. Frunze 47, moved into a rented building, called the Chemical Corps. It was a two-story stone building with central heating, which was on Verhnetorgovoy square, 41. This building housed the department of biological, organic and fizkolloidnoy chemistry and inorganic chemistry with a course of analytical chemistry.
In 1937, the department had taken 2 more assistant: SM Bar-Jonah on biological and MG Rakhmankulov on fizkolloidnoy chemistry. Later, the Department added to assistant MZ Batalov. In the same year assistant IZ Ilyasov was transferred to a common chemistry, Acting Head of Department.
Formation of the Department of Organic Chemistry, Bioorganic and fizkolloidnoy went long and rather complicated way. Each of the first teachers made a great contribution to the organization, formation and development departments.
Research focused on the biochemistry department of vitamins and micro-organisms. Organization of the experimental laboratory allowed Professor Gubareva in 1939 to complete and defend a thesis for the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences on the topic “Effects of formaldehyde on proteins.

Graduates of the diploma, along with a pharmacist and received his medical degree a laboratory-biochemist. A great contribution to the development of training plans and or-ganization of this work has made a senior lecturer ZK Tenisheva.

In September 1995, Department of Biological and bio-organic chemistry has been divided into the Department of Biological Chemistry, which taught bio-Miyu on medical, pediatric, dental and pharmaceutical departments and the course of Bioorganic Chemistry at the faculty and the chair of bioorganic and Clinical Chemistry (Head of Department Professor EG Davletov), who taught bioorganic chemistry at the medical and pediatric departments, organic chemistry at the Pharmaceutical Faculties, common bio-organic and biological chemistry at the Faculty of Higher Nursing Education, clinical chemistry for medical laboratory technicians, based on Biochemists farmfakulteta. Two faculty worked together in the same territory. In 1995, EG Davletov, was elected a corresponding member of Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the Department of Biological Sciences. The newly organized Department actively expanded the training of laboratory doctors, including primary specialization. It has developed new programs to the passage not only of clinical biochemistry, and immunology, morphology, hematology, microbiology, virtually all sections of the laboratory diagnosis. The course is led by assistant professor of laboratory diagnostics A.Zh. Gilmanov.
In 1995 he defended a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences of the applicant AN Zakirov in 1996 – AF Kayumova, Candidate of Medical Sciences School O., R. H. Nigmatullin.
An important event for the Department staff in 1995, was also involved in organizing and conducting in Ufa on the basis of IPPE and PP (Director – Professor VN Maystrenko) International Conference on Dioxins: Environmental problems and methods of analysis.” At the conference were reported the results of the study patohimicheskih processes and hormonal status of acute-government dioksinsoderzhaschim herbicide 2,4-DA in the experiment. In practice, this was the first Russian conference on dioxin.
