Department of Endocrinology
Department of Endocrinology, led by Professor RI Rakhmatullin, was established in 1996. It was reorganized from a rate of Endocrinology at the Department of Surgery and Dentistry, Faculty of Pediatrics, which was opened in September 1989. Creation of the Department of Endocrinology, was due to the need to improve the quality of doctors produced BSMU in endocrine pathology, which tends to the constant growth in Russia and around the world.
The problems of diseases of the endocrine system has always been relevant to the Republic of Bashkortostan, which is the biogeochemical province with iodine deficiency and unbalanced content of trace elements in the environment. An equally important issue is the question of diagnosis and treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus. The increase of this disease in recent years has allowed experts to compare the WHO rapid digging of diabetes with non-infectious pandemic. The social significance of this disease can not be overstated: Diabetes mellitus increases the lethality of 2-3. The average life expectancy of patients with diabetes mellitus for 6-12% less than other groups. The main causes of mortality of patients with diabetes are cardiovascular disease and tsersbrovasaulyarnye. The risk of developing heart disease and myocardial infarction increases 3-fold, hypertension in 3 times, gangrene of the lower extremities occurs 20 times more common renal pathology in 17 times.
However, the issues of early diagnosis, the provision of skilled care, prevention of diabetes are still not solved. Therefore, pursuant to Presidential Decree of May 8, 1996 Ks 676 “On measures of state support for those suffering from diabetes” Order of the RF Government on June 1, 1996 No 647 was established target program “Diabetes Mellitus”, and Bashkortostan republican program “Diabetes diabetes program, which began in 1999.
According to the order of HM RB within the Republican program of Bashkir State Medical University ought to ensure the development of plans and training programs for students and training physicians 1yuslediplomnoy-diabetes on the issue of “Diabetes Mellitus”. Analysis of the staff of the doctors responsible for endocrinological service in the country, showed that 20% of physicians do not have areas of specialization in endocrinology. All at a greatly reduced quality of care residents of areas of the republic, led to late diagnosis of endocrine diseases and growth complications.
These pressing problems of practical public health department of endocrinology was supposed to solve complex – student learning, postgraduate education, scientific study of problems of endocrinology RB, development of priority scientific and practical guidelines for optimizing the diagnosis and treatment of patients with endocrine profile.
Since 1998, the Department of Endocrinology, headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Morugova TV, Endocrinologist highest qualification category, Honoured Doctor RB, chief endocrinologist at RB.
Currently at the Department of Endocrinology, trained medical students, pediatric, medical-prophylactic faculties, a doctor-intern physicians, residents. Education students and graduate training of physicians conducted using all available modern methods of technical training. The trainee contingent participating in the analysis of annual reports of doctors, medical examinations of the population to the screening of patients with endocrine profile, with practical training, students spend health education.
The department operates a student scientific circle. Interns who were trained at the department, perform coursework and a thesis on the most topical issues of Endocrinology. Since 2000, the new form of in-depth learning object elective course. Are 2 courses to choose from students: “Peculiarities of diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases in iodine deficient areas” and “Current issues of diabetology.
Head of the Department of Endocrinology Morugova TV, as the principal endocrinologist RB participated in the implementation of the republican program “Diabetes Mellitus”. With its direct involvement was created Register of patients with diabetes mellitus “. Identify needs and purchased equipment for the operation of the registry, a means of control, saharoponizhayuschie drugs test system for the early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy to prevent its progression and differential diagnosis of types of diabetes mellitus, or were given training schools for people with diabetes. In 2003 and 2008. were arranged in field training for a medical training areas and towns of Belarus on endocrinology.
Decision endocrinological problems facing practical public health, is impossible without scientific evidence, develop priorities and ways to address these problems. In this regard, the main themes of the research department is to study the epidemiology, clinical and pathogenetic features of diabetes mellitus in the Republic of Belarus, genetic markers of diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2 in the population of people of Bashkortostan, the optimization of diagnosis and treatment of renal diseases in patients with diabetes.
An equally important problem of modern endocrinology is the growth of thyroid diseases, which is often associated with iodine deficiency, which is a manifestation of endemic goiter. Goiter is a predisposing factor for the development of other thyroid diseases: thyrotoxicosis, nodal tumors, autoimmune diseases, hypothyroidism. However, iodine deficiency is manifested not only an increase in thyroid gland, but leads to other serious deviations in the health of the population: a violation of fertility “diminished immunity, delayed mental and physical development. From iodine deficiency affects all age groups of the population that identifies the particular medical and social significance of this pathology. Since the mid 70-ies prevention of goiter in the Republic had not been given sufficient attention. Completely halted prevention efforts, greatly reduced import of iodized salt in RB, not carried out iodine prophylaxis of children, pregnant and lactating women. Therefore, one of the scientific directions themes Department of Endocrinology is the study of epidemiology of thyroid diseases, monitoring of iodine deficiency in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the assessment of thyroid status of pregnant women “Research. Completed the department staff, enabled us to give practical advice on diagnosis and prevention of diseases related to iodine deficiency. These studies were a fragment of the target program of the Republic of Bashkortostan to prevent iodine-deficiency states in the population of Belarus, within the comprehensive plan of development and reform of the health of the Republic of Bashkortostan to 2010. According to the results of research works produced practical advice and newsletters.
The department staff have a great help to practical health V1999 was established scientific and practical association of endocrinologists RB, holds monthly meetings of the Association, to discuss topical issues of endocrinology. Every year the republican scientific-practical conference, highlighting the practical problems of organization and assistance, sick endocrine profile.
The department issued educational and methodical literature and manuals for doctors’ interns, memo to the public. Department staff serve in the media. The results of the research department of endocrinology published in the central and foreign press.
On the basis of the department created Endocrinology Center, whose goal is to provide advice to the public and organizational guidance to physicians of various specialties. Chair of the testing and introduction of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of patients. Employees of the department created a register of patients with a rare endocrine disease that allows you to plan drug provision and specifically to monitor the health of these patients.
Thus, the Department of Endocrinology provides comprehensive guidelines of the priority national project “Health”: from treatment to prevention, to improve the quality of health services; the unity of theory and practice in order to increase the availability of high-tech medical care, promote healthy lifestyles. Implementation of these principles contributes to better health, quality of life and social well-being of modern societies.
