Department of Forensic Medicine BGMI was created to address the management of higher educational institutions of the RSFSR People\’s Commissariat in 1937 to organize and lead the department was mandated medical examiner Ufa Vasily Kuznetsov, working as head of Bureau of Forensic Medicine and Bashkortostan. In 1940, Kuznetsov, VG was promoted to the rank of Professor and Distinguished Scientist BASSR. Since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Department of Forensic Medicine BGMI intensified its work in the direction of an actual expert work of the period – the examination of gunshot injury and mutilation. In addressing these issues has made a significant contribution professor Chervak VF, worked temporarily at the department in connection with evacuation from Moscow. Commonwealth Kuznetsova VG and Chervakova VF had a beneficial effect on the development of science in Bashkortostan, allowed to determine the scientific direction for the coming years. Scientific research in the postwar years were devoted mainly forensic victims and defendants. According to studies conducted by V. Kuznetsov defended four Ph.D. dissertations (VA Sundukov, LV Buevich, RY Mukhametov, AI Vishev). Professor Kuznetsov, VG was the author of 16 scientific papers. They performed a number of works on determining the age, identity, sudden death, forensic toxicology, forensic – medical examination of victims and the accused, the examination of gunshot injuries, mutilation. Mukhametov RY was one of the organizers of the Bashkir Branch of the Russian Scientific Society of forensic and forensic, many years was chairman of the society. He is the author of two inventions, 142 scientific papers, 7 monographs, 24 of guidelines for experts, doctors and lawyers on the various methods of forensic medical diagnosis of diseases and artificial self-mutilation. In 1969 he was awarded the title of \”Best innovator.\” Professor Gareev AM actively engaged in developing research programs that contributed significantly to the quality of medical care in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Based on materials from the study sudden death in the cities of Ufa and Sterlitamak recommendations on prevention of diseases, which are published in 17 methodical recommendations and designs for doctors. Under the guidance of Professor Gareeva AM the department established the forensic museum, with more than 800 exhibits of bones and soft tissues of corpses of people with various injuries, which can demonstrate the possibility of forensics in investigating and addressing machinery, of limitation and the origin of morphological processes. The museum is used in the educational process in the university law faculty of Belarusian State University and other institutes of the republic. Professor Gareyev was a member of the commission to investigate air crash in Abzelilovskom BASSR area in 1972, a train crash in Ulu Telyakskom area in 1989, the Republic of Bashkortostan, where the victims were more than 7000 people, as well as provide advice forensic assistance to relatives of the Bashkir disaster in airliner Germany in 2002. Educational and scientific activities of Professor Gareeva AM combined with the practical work of a forensic expert. Traditions of the joint work of the department of forensic medicine and forensic examination of the republic, initiated as early as Professor Kuznetsov, VG, and act now. Bureau of Forensic Medicine Ministry of Health of Belarus is the educational and scientific base of the department. Office staff and the JMO Department conducted joint scientific research, scientific and practical conference. Teachers of the department is constantly doing work of forensic experts, participate in the clinical-anatomical conferences with the analysis of cases of wrong diagnosis of diseases and other medical errors. Employees of the department in 1989, took an active part in the aftermath of train crash station Ulu Telyakovsky, as well as environmental emergency in the city of Ufa in March 1990 in connection with the accident at the plant Khimprom.
The department performed historically significant expertise: the identification of the remains of the legendary General Shaymuratova, the hero of WW II, Professor Kuznetsov, VG based on the exhumation of visits to the Crimea in 1946, examination of the victims dismembered corpses in an airplane crash of TU-104 in 1972 Abzelilovskom area BASSR (Gareev AM, Idiyatullin RA), examination of victims of train crash at the station Ulu -Telyakovsky in 1989 (Professor Gareev AM and all members of the department, participation in a court of Paphos (Cyprus) 1998 Professor Gareev AM) for forensic diagnosis of artificially induced diseases, medico-legal advice on identification of the remains of victims of aviation disasters Bashkir airliner in Germany in 2002; forensic advice on identification of the remains of victims of the terrorist act in North Ossetia (2004, Beslan).
In view of the opening of the faculties at the Department of Forensic Medicine organized profile teaching forensic medicine. For the academic year the department trained 80 groups. The Department of Forensic Medicine 5 teachers.
The department pays much attention to the classroom students\’ independent work under the guidance of the teacher. During the practical training in forensic medical examination, students under the guidance of teachers are receiving survivors to determine the severity of injury and on other occasions, as well as participate in the demonstration autopsies. Carrying out independent work under the guidance of the teacher, students learn to interpret and evaluation of concepts such as medical error, iatrogenic disease, accidents, negligence, official forgery and others. Forming conclusions based on the commission of forensic examinations, the so-called \”medical\” cases, students learn professional responsibility for the actions of medical professionals and learn for his future work, that one of the guarantees of citizens\’ constitutional right to health is criminal law, its regulatory and warning capabilities. Study of criminal law, establishing liability for the crime, including those committed by health professionals in performing their professional duties, legal relations between health workers and patients – all of this is the foundation of the knowledge acquired at the Department of Forensic Medicine, and further enables a highly qualified specialist in its field of medical science.

Students enjoyed the attention it deserves scientific society in which every year deals with 12-15 students. Annually 1-2 active circle members distributed forensic experts. It must be noted that almost all teachers and pupils, many experts are student academic circle. Subjects of student research include both abstract and research. Students circle members have a great practical help in the production of visual aids, tables, macropreparations.

The results of the research department staff put into practical public health in the form of guidelines for medico-legal diagnosis of inflammatory processes in artificial skin, internal diseases, therapeutic, surgical, neurological, profiles, simulation and dissimulation and rationalization proposals. Currently, the scientific direction of the department – the problem of sudden death, a forensic examination of artificial disease and self-mutilation, suicide, mechanical asphyxia.
TERMS OF checking to progresses Students at Department of Forensic Medicine
[I] Monitoring students\’ progress is divided into current and complete. The current control is carried out in the classroom in order to determine the degree of assimilation of educational material, the timely opening of the shortcomings in the training of students and adopting the necessary measures to improve methods of teaching discipline, organization of students in the classroom and providing them with individual assistance. For the current control include: checking the knowledge and skills of students in class, quality of lecture notes, primary sources and other materials. Results of the current control accounted teachers in the journal and periodically discussed at faculty meetings.
By the final control is the pass mark for a full course of discipline. Credits are held in between sessions, after studying all disciplines. Credits are designed to identify and evaluate theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students for a full course of discipline shall be conducted in accordance with curriculums and in the bulk of the work program for the discipline.
In evaluating the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students in the standings take into account their participation in the work on practical exercises, the implementation of their independent work.
Credits shall be made after studying the discipline prior to the examination session. Credits on discipline conducted by ticket or without them (through interviews). Conduct of tests, the form of verification knowledge and skills of students is determined by the department. Passed, adopted by the head of the department, leading this discipline.
